Huis Ravenzicht is a senior residential care facility situated at 161, Ninth Avenue in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. The facility opened its doors in 1976 and has been providing care to persons over 60 years old, ever since. We primarily welcome applications from elderly persons and their family who live in the northern suburbs of Cape town and the surrounding areas. It is however our policy to accept and consider all applications on an equal and equitable basis and to do our very best to assist applicants in their efforts to find suitable and safe accommodation. We pride ourselves in the fairness and transparency of our application process and adhere in this regard strictly to the policies and principles of Badisa and the Department of Social Development of the Government of the Western Cape.

Huis Ravenzicht is registered with the Department of Social Development to provide residency and care to 99 elderly persons. The facility can accommodate a total of approximately 130 elderly persons.The majority of residents is accommodated in 72 single and double rooms, bathrooms are shared. Our independent residents stay in single rooms while residents who require frail care, are mostly accommodated in double rooms. We also have three four and five bedrooms or sickbays, where care is provided to elderly persons who are mostly bedridden and who require a very high level of care. Huis Ravenzicht thus provide the full range of care that may be required by elderly persons. The facility is Unfortunately not registered with the Department of Health to care for persons who has been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's.

Huis Ravenzicht also has 16 single and one bedroom flats available for single elderly persons and couples who are still independent and in good health. Only emergency care is provided to residents who live in the flats. The rental fee paid by the occupiers of our flats includes the main meal of the day, as well as water and electricity and a cleaning and laundry service.

Huis Ravenzicht is first and foremost a program of Badisa and is as such also a non-profit organisation. We consider our inclusive monthly fees to be very reasonable and are convinced that the quality of or residential and care services to be of a high standard. We are also guided by the values, policies and principles of Badisa in our daily endeavours and have proudly made them our own. Most of all however, we are guided by the will and wishes of our Almighty Creator to provide a holistic residential care service to our residents, in the hope that we can enable and assist them to lead a meaningful and dignified life in their final years.
